do other survivors out there have this problem?

systemofafault:

fromonesurvivortoanother:

…where like, your whole life has been so full of constant struggle and drama that when there finally isn’t any, you get really restless?

and maybe you even go as far as to create more problems for yourself because you have grown to expect things in your life to always be like that?

i am feeling that right now.

Yes, I am the host of a DID system, and when nothing particularly stressful is happening, stress is created to fill the hole, I believe it’s a maladaptive attempt to bring back a sense of balance, a feeling of “it’s always gonna be shitty” even if it’s not. For my system it is part of programming The Rules, I don’t know about other people though, especially singlets. -Christen

  12. mcmlvi-ii answered: I do that a lot. I’m so used to worrying about everything that when there’s nothing to worry about, it worries me!
  13. bluesjumpedtherabbit answered: AYEP. partially it’s a thing from living with unmedicated depression for so long for me, but abuse def factors into it.
  14. jotunsauce answered: After “surviving” emotional abuse, I felt exactly this. Didn’t know what to do with myself, kept starting fights with my new boyfriend.
  15. girl-in-a-wheelchair answered: When the struggle is gone, it feels wrong, too quiet, and the hyper-vigilance doesn’t quieten down.
  16. thenameoftheworms-blog answered: I have had problems like that, yeah. Getting depressed when I’m not dealing with shit constantly has happened
  17. ans99 answered: I kind of thrive on drama, NGL. It’s caused me many a problem and much self-induced paranoia.
